Time with a Friend
a priceless gift
of listening,
sharing,
embracing
all of life’s ups,
downs,
joy.
. . .
Music and poetry are transformative tools that connect us
to each other and to ourselves.
—Mary Pipher
I learned early. Friends are not pebbles you collect and hoard in your pocket. Friends, the best friends, embrace the you that even you do not know.
They see the flaws, but accept the imperfections that shape you into the person you become. Real friends tell you what they see in you without judgment. Acting like a mirror, that precious friend gives you space to reflect, accept, and grow.
In a lifetime, only four or five, maybe fewer, walk into the sacred realm of friendship. These rare stones, like jewels, remain close and treasured.
I have many kind friends and even more acquaintances that flow in and out for a time or over many years. They lift my spirits, share challenges, and then we go our separate ways leaving fond remembrances.
If you are lucky, one, maybe only one, will remain steadfast by your side, a priceless gift.
Your friendship keeps me warm and in awe with life. I bless you.
